Afternoon snack: Fruit salad
Even though it’s hot down here, it’s great to be back in Dubai. We started the day shopping groceries in Géant, which is an enormous supermarket located in Ibn Battuta Mall, just 10 minutes drive from here. Géant is extremely cheap compared to the supermarkets in Denmark.
Today we bought two giant Brazilian rib eye steaks for 35AED (about 10 USD), which Poul is right now transforming into dinner. Sweets, sodas and pastries are also very cheap, so you really have to be careful if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Fortunately, the supply of fruit and vegetables is huge, and you can get lots of exotic stuff, you’ll never find in the Danish supermarkets. Fruit can be expensive, but if you go for local produce, the prices are low.

Passed by Victoria’s Secret in the airport and had to go and get a squirt of their Bombshell fragrance. It’s such a summery fragrance and it reminds me of Venice Beach and Sunset Blvd in LA:)
Btw, the fish fillet yesterday was really good. Rikke has a secret trick when it comes to the breading, which makes sure that it always gets crispy and golden.

Gårdsdagens fiskefilet.
Rikke har et hemmeligt paneringstrick, så fiskefileterne igår blev rigtig gode. Faktisk blev de så gode, at de med tiden godt kunne gå hen og blive en konkurrent til vores sædvanlige flæskestegsritual.
Jeg gik forbi Victoria’s Secret i lufthavnen og var nødt til at gå indenfor og få mig et sprøjt af deres Bombshell-duft

Tonight I’m working so Rikke and I are having early dinner. She has just initiated project fish fillet in the kitchen, while I’m eating all her liquorice.
Tomorrow I’m going to Dubai again. It’s really hot down there now, so I’ll leave my coat in Denmark. In Dubai, it’s Jumeirah Restaurant Week May 23rd-June 1st . In this period, you have the opportunity to dine at some of the best restaurants in Dubai at a very reduced price, so Poul and I will be out putting on lots of weight in the week to come.
I’m aware that my blog posts the last couple of weeks haven’t been too exciting, but I spend most of my time working on my new website design and my guides. The new layout is more user-friendly and I’ve also included Google Maps, to make it easier to find the places, I am writing about. You can have a sneak peek here.

Norwegian Melkesjokolade
Rikke is visiting, so I made risotto for dinner. Our plan for the rest of the evening includes eating lots of Norwegian milk chocolate while watching two episodes of C.S.I. Sometimes Mondays aren’t that bad..
