A different view of Nairobi

Uhuru Park.

Monday morning, I met up with Father Bahati, who works at St. Mary’s hospital and has helped arrange my stay. He  showed me some of the nice places in Nairobi and I got a completely different impression of the city than what I had experienced the day before.

In the park.

We also visited the cozy Uhuru park, where people were enjoying the beautiful day on some of all the green spots. At the park we met up with some of Father Bahati’s friends, two sweet girls, which we later had lunch with. The lunch consisted of fried chicken and French fries and a glass of my Kenyan favorite; passion fruit juice, or just passion, as it is called here.

The National Museum.

How nice that you have been meeting people and getting out. The park looks gorgeous. I also love to visit parks and gardens.
    Have a nice day.

The park was a really wonderful place. A peaceful haven in the middle of bustling Nairobi. Though, it is supposed to be a rather dangerous place after dark.

I am studying medicine, and I was lucky to get a two week rotation in Kenya:) Though I’ve decided not to write too much about my studies and my work, since 1) It would be rather boring and 2) I don’t want to interfere with the privacy of the patients and my colleagues:)
