Universal Studios.
One of the more strange experiences I have had in Los Angeles was back in 2008, where my friend Mike from the aviation college, and I were visiting Universal Studios. Back then one of the attractions was “Fear Factor live”, which we, for still unknown reasons, signed up for. The main prize was an annual pass to Universal Studios, and we were 6 contestants.
Not exactly a tasty experience.
Luckily I was out already after the first challenge, which was named “The Endurance Hang” (we were hanging from bars up in the air, and the first ones to fall were eliminated). The reason why I write “luckily” is that Mike and the other successful contestants had to endure some really disgusting tasks such as drinking smoothies made from sour milk and pig’s eyes as well as fetching different things from an aquarium full of slimy eels.
I am still not really sure why we chose to sign up, but we have laughed a lot since then about this really bizarre Californian experience.
